On the night of June 5 to 6 , despite many military assets in place , the losses will rise to more than 3,000 soldiers on 150,000 men engaged in the operation. Saint -Martin- de- Varreville in Ouistreham , the landing marks a major turning point in the relationship of forces which oppose the belligerents of this major conflict of the 20th century. On the front of the room, the graphic of the word ´ D- DAY ´ is both a landing craft and the barrel of a tank. We discover the dates 1944-2014 above the tank gun and the words ´ 70th anniversary of the landing .´ The very special footprints boots worn by American and British armies disappear gradually erased by a wave.
